Maxine Mae Copple Utman, 93, of Omaha, formerly of Logan passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Hospice House in Omaha, NE. Maxine was born Sept. 16, 1924 to Theodore & Anna (Wohlers) Christians in Missouri Valley, Ia. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Honey Creek, IA. She attended grade school at Fairview Rural School for 8 years and graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1942. She taught in rural schools for 3 years.
Maxine married Melborne H. Copple on March 18, 1945. Born to this marriage were Richard Harvey Copple on July 28, 1947 and Barbara Anne (Copple) Wilcock on May 28, 1950. After celebrating 42 years of marriage, Melborne passed away on November 10, 1987 at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha.
Maxine was an employee at First National Bank in Logan for 36 years. She retired in 1990.
Maxine married Bob Utman of Modale, IA in September of 1990. Bob died in April of 2009 and shortly after, she moved to Immanuel Village in Omaha.
Maxine was preceded in death by 8 brothers and 6 sisters.
She is survived by one sister, Alice Costa of Council Bluffs, IA, Son, Richard (Roberta) Copple of Omaha and daughter Barbara (Tod) Wilcock of Bonita Springs, FL, 5 grandchildren: Amber (Vince) Burk, Andrea Gutschow, Chris Copple, Stacey (Bill) Driver and Brad (Amy) Wilcock, 5 great granddaughters and 1 great grandson: Alexis & Ava Gutschow, Kylie & Maggie Driver, Olivia Wilcock and Charles Wilcock, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan, Iowa.
