Ruby M. Chapman

 Ruby Marie Chapman of Persia, Iowa passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the Elmcrest Senior Living Community in Harlan, Iowa. She was 92 years old. Ruby was born on July 8, 1928 to Gertrude (Jones) Jarvis and William Jarvis in Persia, Iowa. Ruby was united in marriage to Lowell Chapman on January 22, 1953 in Omaha, Nebraska. She became a teacher and taught several years in Logan and some country schools in the Persia area. Ruby loved living on the farm. Having three children, Cheryl, Kathy, and Rick, and many chores to do kept her very busy. She was a hard worker. She was known to love flowers, sewing, and going to church. Ruby and Lowell belonged to a dance club in Missouri Valley years ago. They loved dancing together and have many friends that remember sharing those memories with them as well. Ruby and Lowell also loved traveling and vacationing with their family and many friends.

Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude and William Jarvis; daughter, Kathy Benes, son, Rick Chapman; two brothers and two sisters (Harold, Donald, Viola, and Loretta); and nephew, Arvon Jarvis.

Ruby is survived by her husband, Lowell Chapman of Persia, Iowa; daughter Cheryl Bergman (Garry) from Clive, Iowa; grandchildren, Steven, Sarah, and Shari; great-grandchildren, Caiden, Sarah, and Hailey; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Ruby will be Sunday, December 13, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan, Iowa | 215 N 4th Ave.

There will also be an hour to visit before the funeral service on Monday, December 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan, followed by the service. 

Funeral Service will be on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan, Iowa.

Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in Persia, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
