Paul even made a softball field on his farm so his daughters and their friends could practice and play ball.
Paul was larger than life who spoke to everyone and never met a stranger. He had a great sense of humor. In later years, Paul and Phyllis enjoyed traveling the country and Canada enjoying the countryside and national monuments as well as visiting his kids. He also enjoyed cooking and watching the Food Network dreaming up new recipes for Phyllis to cook and looking for new restaurants on his travels. His hobbies were his orchard, gardening, storytelling, and he always had a list of chores for his daughters and son-in-laws. He especially loved taking the grandkids on Gator and Golf cart rides around the farm and showing all visitors the tile barn and his orchard.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Hansen; 3 daughters, Sarah and her husband Tony Toby of Athens, GA; Rachel and her husband Scott Snyder of Perry, IA; Beth and her husband Brennen Beavers of Grimes, IA. 6 grandchildren, Cole Snyder, Keegan Snyder, Sydney Beavers, Charlie Beavers, Ike Beavers, Homer Beavers. 1 sister, Joan Fetter of Logan, IA and 1 brother, Gail Hansen of Las Vegas, NV., and many other nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
