Miriam I. Cates age 95, of Logan, Iowa passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Westmont Nursing Home in Logan, Iowa. Miriam was born November 8, 1923 in Magnolia, Iowa to William W. and Pearl (Kole) Unmack. Miriam graduated from Magnolia High School. She married Roy “Nick” Cates October 22, 1944 in Magnolia, Iowa. They farmed in the Magnolia and Beebeetown areas. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidering. Miriam was a member of the Christian Church in Logan.
Miriam is preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy “Nick” Cates, son, Dale and four sisters, two brothers.
Survived by her children: Terry Cates of Logan, Iowa, Betty Gaede and husband Glenn of Enid, Oklahoma, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday at at the Christian Church in Logan, Iowa.
The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at the church following the committal service.
