Lyle Curtis Ronfeldt , 82 of Persia, IA passed away on October 24, 2023.
He was born April 8th, 1941 to Gilbert and Ella (Wiepert) Ronfeldt in the Neola, IA area where he grew up and graduated from Tri-Center in 1960.
Lyle loved farming and farmed with his family his entire life. He also worked at Bill Phillips Sales for 33 years and then as a supervisor for the local Iowa rest areas until he retired and farmed until 2005 when he fully retired so he could relax, watch Nascar, play pitch and spend more time with his family and friends.
On Aug 9, 1963, Lyle married his wife Bonnie Watkinson from Council Bluffs whom he met at Ewald’s Cafe and they enjoyed a wonderful life together for 60 years. They lived in Council Bluffs, IA for 13 years, then they moved to Persia, IA where he continued to live for the remainder of his life.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie: daughter, Kathie (Wayne) Russell; sons, Kevin (Brenda) Ronfeldt, Kreg (Jill) Ronfeldt, Kory Ronfeldt. Grandchildren: Eric Russell, Kyle Russell, Melissa (Andy) Griffith, Kara (Jarod) Wilwerding, Chance Ronfeldt, step grandchildren, Braxton Heller, Jayden Heller, Jordyn Heller. Great-grandchildren; Gunner Griffith, Zane Griffith; Sister Judy Hill of Mulberry, FL; many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Ella; brother Kenneth, Gene, Dennis and Lynn; Grandson Ryan Ronfeldt; in-laws Pearl and Naomi Watkinson
It was Lyle’s wishes to be cremated. A memorial visitation will be held on November 3, 2023, from 5-7 PM at the Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan, Iowa. Following the visitation, the family would like to invite everyone to the Persia Fire Hall in Persia, IA for sandwiches and drinks until 9.p.m.
A private family graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM at the Valley View Cemetery outside of Persia, IA
