LeRoy “Duane” Yost

 

LeRoy “Duane” Yost age 78, of Logan, Iowa passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022 in Denison, Iowa. Duane was born in Imperial, NE in 1944 to Arthur and Arleta (Johnson) Yost. The family moved to Logan in 1961 and he graduated from LO-MA High School in 1962. Duane retired from driving trucks about 2009.

Duane enjoyed many things in life, fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, wood working. He also enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, taking care of his chickens, sharing the eggs he collected with friends and family and meeting friends for morning coffee.

Duane is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Arleta, stepfather Cyril Barkhoff, stepbrothers Gerald Lee Hill, and Donald Barkhoff, son Brian Yost and great granddaughter Cora Ireland.

Duane is survived by brother Eldon Yost, stepbrother Llyod Hill, sons Donnie (Gina) Yost, Andy (Diane) Yost and daughter Sharon Yost. He also leaves behind six grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 4:00p.m~7:00p.m July 27, 2022 at the Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan, Iowa.

    Sorry to have learned of his passing. I live up the hill from him for 21 years now. Always had a Smile & waved every time my Husband or I went by.
