Larry E. Wallis

Larry Wallis age 70, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa.

Larry Estal Wallis was born November 17, 1950 to Estal K. Wallis and Opal Beatrice (Polen) Wallis. He was born at Hester’s Birthing House in Pisgah, Iowa. Larry graduated from Logan-Magnolia High School in 1969 and enlisted in the United States Army. He served for four years in active duty, completing a tour in Vietnam, working in communications.

After an honorable discharge from the Army, Larry farmed, framed houses and then worked construction, joining RD Blue, MFT, Hawkins, and returned to MFT before entering retirement.

On May 18th, 1974, Larry married Cynthia (Cindy) Peterson at the Logan Christian Church in Logan, Iowa. They lived in Magnolia, Iowa until his death.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gary L Wallis. He is survived by his wife, Cindy; his sister, Marilyn Hughes; brothers, Mike Wallis and David Wallis; sons, Brian (Laurie) and Eric (Kandice); grandchildren, Hailey, Paiton, Brayden, Calvin, and Cael; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

There will be a visitation for Larry from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 19, 2021 at the Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan, Iowa.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan, Iowa.

Following the funeral service Larry will be laid to rest in the Magnolia Cemetery.

    Larry was a great guy with a big heart. You won’t find a harder worker and Larry could do anything and do it well. Cindy and the boys will have a big void to fill. Our hearts go out to you and our prayer is that you will find comfort in the memories of a good husband, dad and friend to many.
