Kathryn Alton Hornbeck Harris, age 93, of Logan, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Westmont Care Center in Logan, Iowa. Kathryn was born October 13, 1922 in Little Sioux, Iowa to Walter and Leona (Little) Alton. In May of 1940, Kathryn and Gee were married, Gee passed away in 1955. Kathryn worked at Moore Brothers Grocery Store and then accepted a position in the Social Welfare Department, at the Logan Court House. She retired in the 1980s. Kathryn was a member of the Logan Christian Church. Kathryn married Calvin Harris August 12, 1972 in Logan, Iowa. Kathryn liked to camp, quilt, read, crochet, play cards, dance, and spend time with family. Kathryn is preceded in death by: one son at birth: Gary, mother: Leona, father: Walter, husband: Gee and brother: Ed. Survivors include her husband: Calvin Harris of Logan, Iowa, children: Phyllis Kersten and husband Jim of Keokuk, Iowa, Larry Hornbeck and wife Shirley of Denver, Colorado, Robert Hornbeck and wife Susan of Keller, Texas, Jim Hornbeck and wife Connie of Logan, Iowa, Dennis Hornbeck and wife Susan of Logan, Iowa, Jon Hornbeck and wife Becky of Elkhorn, Nebraska, two brothers, three sisters, 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, many step grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan, Iowa. The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at the Christian Church following the committal.
