Hatley, age 58, of Logan, Iowa passed away Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Joey was born August 29, 1954 in Cherokee, Iowa to Billy Joe and Bettina (Perkins) Hatley. Joey graduated from the Anthon-Oto High School. He was married to Charlene Creek, June 1, 1973 in Correctionville, Iowa. He worked at IBP in Sioux City, then attended college and earned his degree in programming and came to work for Perfection Learning right after college in 1983. Joey enjoyed fishing, hunting, target shooting and riding motorcycles. Joey was preceded in death by his father Billy Joe, brother, Kevin Perkins, nephew, Hunter Chunn, father-in-law, Charles Creek. Survivors include his wife: Charlene of Logan, Iowa; children: Charlie Hatley and Laralyn McWilliams of Marina Del Ray, California; mother: Bettina Perkins of Anthon, Iowa; sister: Nora Chunn and husband Glenn of Cypress, Texas; brother: Blake Perkins and wife Kelli of Anthon, Iowa; mother-in-law: Bonnie Creek of Ruthven, Iowa; sister-in-laws: Robbie Coleman; Shelly Brauninger both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Jan Scott of Ruthven, Iowa. Family would like to invite everyone to the Logan Masonic Lodge for a time of lunch and fellowship immediately following the service.
