Jo Ann Miller born December 21, 1929, age 90, was entered into rest on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.
Jo Ann completed high school, she graduated from Missouri Valley High School on May 20, 1948. After completing school, she went to Washington, D.C and became a typist for J. Edgar Hoover at the FBI. Shortly after, she met her husband Denison and they were married on September 23, 1950 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Jo Ann and Denison moved to Omaha, Nebraska for a while after getting married, they then lived in Fort Calhoun for some time as well as Missouri Valley, Iowa. Jo Ann and Denison decided to settle in Logan, Iowa where they lived together for over 40 years. Jo Ann went on to work as a CNA at Westmont Care Center in Logan, Iowa. After working at Westmont, she continued to keep caring for people as a Home Health Care Giver. She was the care giver to everyone around her even outside of working, it was her passion to take care of the ones around her.
Jo Ann was known to love gardening, sewing, quilting, and traveling. She especially loved attending family get togethers. Jo Ann will truly be missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Lula (Steen) McIntosh and her husband, Denison Miller; daughter and son in law, Susan Walsh (Kal); son, Kenneth Miller; son, William Miller; grandson, Gage Lawson; granddaughter, Heather Wakehouse, and granddaughter, Leila McCoy.
Survived by children; daughter, Donna McCoy (George), of Missouri Valley, Iowa; son, Patrick Miller (Mary), of Logan, Iowa; brother, Lemeul McIntosh of Missouri Valley, daughter in law, Carla Miller of Missouri Valley, Iowa; eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
A visitation for Jo Ann was held on Monday, September 28, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan, Iowa.
Memorials will be directed to the family.
