Jack Stanley McMillen, age 84, of Logan, Iowa passed away on November 14, 2013 at Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine, Iowa. Jack was born February 22, 1929 to Paul Ray and Jessie Pearl (Lyon) McMillen in Harrison County, Iowa. Jack graduated from Logan High School in 1947. He married Eva Dickinson on June 17, 1951 in Logan, Iowa. They were blessed with two children, Terry and Connie. Eva passed away on February 8, 2007. Jack farmed for many years. He went to work for Iowa Department of Transportation in maintenance for 22 years before retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Logan Kiawanis and the Logan Methodist Church. Jack enjoyed volunteering at Rose Vista participating in sing alongs and singing in the Notables choir. He enjoyed spending time with his card clubs, and helping at Seeley Auto Repair. He dearly loved his grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He enjoyed spending time with them and attending their activities. Jack is preceded in death by: his parents, wife Eva, brothers; Lawrence and Loyd, sisters; Lois Woodruff, Mildred McIntosh, and Ada Wheeler Survivors include his children: Son Terry McMillen and wife Leeanne of Orange City, Iowa; daughter Connie Weeder and husband Dan of Osmond, Nebraska; four grandchildren: Dawn Wiederholt and husband Ted of Montclair, Virginia, Megan Malenosky and husband Joshua of Rock Valley, Iowa, Brittnee Weeder of Norfolk, Nebraska, Brandon Weeder of Elkhorn, Nebraska; six great grandchildren: Jack, Clara, Sam, Evelyn, Amelia Wiederholt, and Josie Malenosky; brothers-in-law: Frank Grosvenor and Harold Dickinson and wife Marie; sister-in-law: Harriet McMillen, many nieces and nephews, and special companion Sondra Dickinson of Woodbine, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. at Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan, Iowa. The family would like to invite everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship to the church after the committal service.
