To My Children When I’m Gone
When I’m gone don’t miss me too much…
Please always remember my loving touch.
I loved you as babies tiny and small
And through years as you grew strong and tall.
There is nothing better than a loving clan
Of the children born to a woman and man.
I loved baking cookies and goodies for you
So it would smell good when the door you came through.
I tried to nourish you not just with food
But spiritually so you’d grow strong and good.
Little Babies are so precious to snuggle
And sometimes teens need help with a struggle.
By loving my dear husband I showed you
How to be adults, faithful and true.
We started marriage with no money, but love
Which God has always given from above.
We had some struggles and tears
But mostly happiness through the years.
God has blessed us so very abundantly
Our children and grandchildren are our life, don’t you see.
I wish you could have known my father and mother.
They’d have cherished you like no other.
I thank God for my life every day
And for the joys we shared along the way.
So please don’t cry long for me
I’ll be waiting in heaven for thee.

Sixty-six years… my dear, dear wife.
Sixty-six years… the joy of my life.
Sixty-six years…how can it be, sixty-six years since you married me?
You are now gazing at Jesus’ loving face,
Wrapped in his tender, loving embrace.

Gene and family,
So sorry about your loss of Evelyn. It seems she had a good full life with the love of many family members, a strong faith, and a marriage to Gene for 66 years. I know she was always a good friend to my mom, Betty Barry.. I thank her for that. You all are in and have been in my thoughts and prayers.
