Esta Redinbaugh

Esta L. (Bosworth) Redinbaugh age 94, of Sioux City, Iowa formerly of Logan, Iowa passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Esta was born December 24, 1924 in Logan, Iowa to Everett E. and Rena H. (Kleen) Bosworth. Esta grew up and attended school in Logan, graduating from Logan High School in 1942. In 1946, she moved with her husband George to Sioux City, IA where daughter Janice was born. She worked outside of the home in retail, ending her career with 15 years in college registrar administration retiring in 1989. Her real passion was flower and vegetable gardening under the watchful eye of Penny the family terrier. Esta and George took many memorable vacations with their daughter (mostly to the western states) before George’s death in 1972. In the years since, her vacations were fewer and not as far away as she enjoyed being home with her poodle Peaches. Every Christmas was kicked off on Christmas Eve with a celebration of her birthday. Esta enjoyed her family as well as many friends.

Esta is preceded in death by her parents, husband George, brothers: Lyle, Verle, LeRoy, Glen, four nieces and one nephew.

Esta is survived by her daughter Janice Kensler and husband Vic of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren: Todd Kensler of Benbrook, Texas, Megan Holmstedt and husband Lee of Omaha, Nebraska; sister-in-law Ardithe Bosworth of Logan, Iowa; nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan, Iowa.

Family invites everyone to lunch and fellowship at the Methodist Church in Logan, Iowa following the committal service at the cemetery.

Esta requested that memorials be directed to the Logan Volunteer Fire and Rescue.

    Vic/Janice, I am saddened to read of Esta’s passing. I was browsing thru the on-line version of the Missouri Valley paper and found the obituary. She certainly lived a nice long life. Our best regards.
