Donald W Cooper

Donald W. Cooper, age 72, of Logan, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa.

    Donald was born September 29, 1946 in Pisgah, Iowa, to Wayne and Lois (Withem) Cooper. He attended Woodbine School, Woodbine, Iowa. He married Cheri Martin on September 26, 1965 in Logan, Iowa. Throughout his life, he farmed for many years, enjoyed raising livestock. He worked at Leaders in Dunlap, Iowa, he owned and operated Cooper’s Tires in Logan, Iowa. Donald enjoyed working on tractors, playing pool, making car and motorcycle trailers and loved attending auctions, especially farm auctions. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Logan for a few years.

    Donald is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Cheri.

He is survived by his son, Larry Cooper of Michigan; his daughter, Angela Rathbun and husband James of Council Bluffs, Iowa; grandchildren; Brianna Cooper; Owen Cooper; Isabella Cooper; Morgan Rathbun; Bree Ann Rathbun and James Rathbun II, great grandchildren, Ares Rathbun and Cager J. Thornton.

Visitation with family will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 29th, 2019 at the Logan Memorial Chapel, Logan, Iowa.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the Logan Memorial Chapel, Logan, Iowa.

The family invites everyone to a time of lunch and fellowship at the Landmark Baptist Church in Logan, Iowa, following the committal service

    I am thinking of you during this difficult time. May God comfort you in the days ahead as Romans 15:5 says he supplies comfort and endurance. My deepest sympathies to the family of Donald. I am so sorry for your loss.

    So very sorry to hear of your loss. We were neighbors when you were younger. your parents use to get eggs from us.
