Charles Vernon Briney age 64,of Madison Wisconsin formally of Magnolia, Iowa passed away Monday November 26, 2012 at his home. Charlie was born in Denison, Iowa March 20, 1948 to Lamoine Dougal and Gene Briney. He graduated from the University of South Dakota as a computer Programming major and History minor. He retired a few years ago as a Data Warehousing manager for an insurance company in Milwaukee. Charlie was a nature lover. His love stretched to the cool temperate rockies where he dwelled among pines for many years of his life. Charlie was a strong sensitive man whose good-hearted, jolly laugh could warm any cynical thought. He had a meticulous love for detail that drove his perfectionist character and great appreciation for engineering and technology. If I were to picture him standing here today, I see him standing tall in his 62 hay-baling frame wearing one of his many sets of boots, clad in only a sweater while others skedaddle to their home wearing long winter coats. It was the mountain man that we come to remember today. He will be loved and missed. Charles was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his daughter: Lara Geraghty and husband John of New York City, New York; son: Chris Briney of Omaha, Nebraska; brothers: Kevin Gochenour and wife Lori of Logan, Iowa; Larry Gochenour and wife Mary Ann of Magnolia, Iowa.
