REMEMBERING ARDITHE ANN “KERSTEN” BOSWORTH November 17, 1929 ~ ~ April 1, 2020 Daughter~Wife~Mother Mother-in-law~Sister~Sister-in-law Grandmother~Great Grandmother Great-Great Grandmother

Ardithe was born on November 17, 1929 to Marie Frances Zelma Herman & Ezra “Ted” Kersten. She had 1 brother, William Warren and 2 sisters, Marcella Myrle & Lorella Lou. Ardithe graduated from Logan-Magnolia High School in 1947. On January 1, 1950 she married the love of her life, Everett “Boz” Leroy Bosworth of Logan, Iowa. Together they had 2 daughters, Kathryn Lynn & Rebecca Sue and 1 son, Tedd Arthur. While raising her family, Ardithe worked at Lenihan’s Pharmacy, now known as Eby Drug and Harvey’s Clothing Store as a clerk. Ardithe and Boz loved to camp and traveled to many places with their children and their travels continued after their children were grown. She would just glow when sharing stories & memories of all the places that they traveled. Ardithe enjoyed gardening and tinkering with her flowers and plants, she had so many it would take over an hour to water them all while they were gone on vacation. Ardithe also loved to watch Iowa Hawkeyes, especially because her brother played football for them. Ardithe love to crochet & crocheted baby blankets for her grandchildren when they were born & made afghans for them when they were older. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends & was in a card club with her friends for many years. They would all take turns hosting at their homes. Ardithe and Boz were wonderful parents & very active in their lives. They also enjoyed spending time with their Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren. They were probably the best grandparents any grandchild could ask for. They all have wonderful memories of all the 4th of July celebrations, roasting marshmallows in their fireplace, playing in their fishpond, getting in to the cupboard that was always stashed with candy & gum & cutting wood with them during the winter months & then coming in for a cup of hot chocolate & buttered toast. But their best memories are when they would come to all their sporting events, concerts, school plays, dance, baptisms, graduations & weddings. They were always there and missed very few! After Ardithe’s children left home, she took up oil painting. She loved painting outdoor scenery and gave them away as gifts & they hang in our homes today as memories of her wonderful talent. Ardithe had many dogs & cats over the years, but her favorite had to be “Mini Muffin”, she pouted for several days until Boz finally gave in and said that she could keep her, after he said, “No more pets” after the last one had passed. Ardithe loved to read, especially Harlequin romance novels & she was a wonderful cook too! She had some specialties that we all looked forward to, like her suet pudding, red devil cake, cherry dessert & homemade chicken & noodles. Ardithe was a devout Lutheran & was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church in Logan, Iowa her entire life. She was very active in the church and taught Sunday school & catechism for many years. She was preceded in death by her Father & mother, husband, daughter & son-in-law Kathryn & Gary Springer, Great grandson John Paul Kevin Anderson, brother, William Warren, sister Marcella “Marcy” Shepard, brother-in-law Albert “Bru” Sears. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca & husband Kevin Loftus of Logan, son, Tedd & wife Jessica Bosworth of Logan, sister, Lou Sears of Ankeny, Iowa & brother-in-law, Keith Shepard of Omaha, NE. 7 grandchildren: Joel & Danyl Springer of Bellevue, NE, Jennifer & husband Luke Anderson of Omaha, NE, Nicholas & wife Brenda Loftus of Woodbine, IA, Ryan & wife Jaclyn Loftus of Logan, IA, Michael & wife Donis Bosworth of Waukee, IA, Mark & wife Dusti Bosworth of Colorado Spring, CO. 17 Great-grandchildren: Katie & Trevor Springer of Bellevue, NE, Evan, Kiera & Meghan Anderson of Omaha, NE, Lane & wife Morgan Pitt of Woodbine, IA, Caleb Loftus of Woodbine, IA, Jett, Jude & Case Loftus of Logan, IA, Mavin, Ada & Vera Bosworth of Waukee, IA, Briley, Nora & Claire Bosworth of Colorado Springs, CO. 2 Great-Great grandchildren: Grayson and soon-to-be born in mid-April – Aria Sage. Such a wonderful woman. It was a joy to help her over the last couple years. I will cherish our time together and the stories we shared. She will always hold a spot in my heart.

Ardith was an amazing woman!! I have known her all my life and had the opportunity to care for her the last 5 years of her life. We spent many nights laughing, crying and telling stories. I will miss her beautiful smile and her wisdom and courage. She was very lucky to have such a wonderful family!!

Becky, Tedd and the families of Ardithe Bosworth,
God’s prophetic word is sure, “even to your old age . . . I will carry you.” Ardithe has been spared the anxiety and uncertainty we feel these days and surely adds to your grief. May that Word and faith comfort and sustain you now, as it did her, with gratitude for her long and productive life. I remember Ardith, a regular at worship and in the Logan community and busy with life. I am sorry not to be able to join you personally as you mark this big loss. May the Lord bless and keep you all and surround you with the love she gave and that will carry you on.
